Washington, D.C., December 4, 2013–Raj Sharma, CEO of Censeo Consulting Group, has been appointed to the Women in Public Service Project (WPSP), a program of the Global Women’s Leadership Initiative at the Wilson Center which empowers the next generation of women around the world and mobilizes them on issues of critical importance in public service.

Mr. Sharma is one of two men appointed to the Women in Public Service Project and has been named a Champion of Change in the 50×50 Leadership Circle. The other being Craig Newmark, founder of craigslist.org.

The Women in Public Service Project was co-founded by Hillary Clinton, with the aim of getting women around the world into 50 percent of all publicly-held positions by the year 2050 (“50 x 50”). Former California congresswoman Jane Harman is the president, CEO, and director of the Wilson Center.

“I am honored to have been appointed to the 50×50 Leadership Circle’s Women in Public Service Project and been named a Champion of Change,” said Mr. Sharma. “Women in executive roles are the key to unlocking progress in both government and the business world. I look forward to working with this organization to help equip women with the tools that will allow them to hold leadership positions.”

About the Women in Public Service Project 

The Women in Public Service Project is a program of Global Women’s Leadership Initiative at the Wilson Center which empowers the next generation of women around the world and mobilizes them on issues of critical importance in public service.  Through innovative research, dynamic learning institutes, and strategic peer-to-peer and two way mentoring, the WPSP is committed to a new global partnership aimed at reaching a minimum of 50 percent representations in public service by 2050 (“50 x 50”).  Founded in 2011 by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in partnership with the U.S. State Department and the historic Seven Sisters Colleges has now expanded globally.
